Quick Tips Part 1.9

Map deployment for WebSphere Message Broker
WebSphere Transformation Extender 8.2 adds a new deployment option to support WebSphere Message Broker. You can now generate a MAR file, which packages all the related artifacts into one file. After this file is created, it can be included inside the WebSphere Message Broker BAR deployment file. The single archive file simplifies the management of map dependencies within WebSphere Message Broker.

WSDL Importer

The WSDL Importer can now process SOAP arrays and produce relevant type trees when the type of the array's elements is known. Previously, when the components of the array were determined correctly, their type was unknown and, as such, they could not be validated.

Core Engine Enhancements

Native Schema Support
Users can now attach a schema directly to an input or output card on a map. This eliminates the need to import the schema into a Type Tree, although the importer is still available for those who wish to use it.

JEXIT Function
The JEXIT function provides a means to interface with a method in an external Java class. Use this function to manipulate simple primitive types, simple objects, and complex objects.

Bi-directional code locale support
The bi-directional code locale support handles differences in the ordering and in other associated text presentation characteristics during the transformation of your bidirectional data.
Use the following bidirectional functions to convert text objects that have bidirectional properties: SETLOGICALORDER, SETVISUALORDER, SETORIENTATIONLTR, SETORIENTATIONRTL, SETTEXTSHAPING, and SETTEXTSHAPINGOFF.
To define a text object as bidirectional, you will set the Item Subclass > Bidirectional property for that object in the type tree.
When you set the Item Subclass for a text object as Bidirectional, you can select options for symmetric swapping, ordering, orientation, and shaping.
